Account data
If you create an account, we store the account identifier from our sign-in provider (Clerk), your email, your name if you provide one, your plan, and Stripe customer identifiers when you subscribe. Creator memory (niche, audience, style, goals, notes) is stored only if you save it.
Public YouTube data
Channel lookups and free audits use the YouTube Data API with an API key. That returns public channel and video information: titles, descriptions, tags, statistics, and publish times. You do not need to sign in with Google for that.
Google user data from YouTube OAuth
Connecting YouTube is optional and limited to the Unlimited plan. Creator Climb requests the smallest scopes that can perform the feature you turn on:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.force-ssl— identify your channel and update video title, description, and tags after you approve each change. This is the scope Google authorizes for those edits. Creator Climb does not delete videos, comments, ratings, or captions.https://www.googleapis.com/auth/yt-analytics.readonly— read-only watch time, average view duration, and subscriber changes. Requested only when you enable watch-time alerts, not on the first connect.
We do not request monetary analytics or YouTube partner scopes.
The refresh token is encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and is not sent to the browser. Access tokens are used server-side to call the YouTube APIs and are not stored as the long-term credential. Original title, description, and tags are saved with an Auto fix run so Undo can restore them.
How Google user data is used
Google user data is used only to provide Creator Climb features you can see in the product: showing which channel is connected, drafting metadata rewrites, applying the rewrites you confirm, restoring them on Undo, and showing analytics alerts you enabled.
When you generate an Auto fix preview, the current title, description, and tags of those videos are sent to OpenAI to draft the rewrite. YouTube Analytics metrics are not sent to OpenAI. We do not sell Google user data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to train generalized models. Confirm that the OpenAI API project used in production is configured so API inputs are not used for model training.
Creator Climb's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Payments
Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Creator Climb stores Stripe customer, subscription, price, and status identifiers. Card numbers stay with Stripe.
How long data is kept
Account data, audits, reports, memory, and the encrypted YouTube token are kept until you disconnect YouTube or delete the account. Disconnecting revokes the Google token and deletes the stored credential. Deleting the account also cancels an active subscription and removes your profile, audits, reports, plans, alerts, and memory. Public channel rows may remain without your user id because they contain public YouTube information. Private analytics stored on snapshots for your connected channels are cleared.
Your choices
Disconnect YouTube from the dashboard or Settings. Cancel a subscription from the billing portal in Settings. Delete the account from Settings by typing DELETE. You can also revoke Creator Climb in your Google Account permissions.
